Oneida lake fishing report 7/10/20

The walleye fishing on Oneida Lake is still hot hot hot. Both trolling and jigging are taking fish. I have dates available if you want in on the action.

Last night Rob and Jesse met me at the launch to find a very stiff east wind. With the rough lake I gave them the option to reschedule or fish. They weren’t scared of the wind and waves so we fished.

We started out trolling which produced numerous walleye. The trolling bite slowed a bit so we decided to try jigging. It was the right decision as we put the rest of our limit in the boat on jigs.

Dave and his son Ben had an excellent day fishing Oneida Lake with me. Spinner and worm were on fire again. We started the morning with 75 worms and used every one of them.

Ben was very happy to land the lunker of the day, a nice 23″ walleye. If you want in on the action give me a call. Happy Independence Day everyone.

Kory and Logan had a great day with me fishing for walleye on Oneida Lake. They went home with a limit of tasty walleye fillets.

Trolling 20 to 30 feet of water with spinners and worms was the ticket again Monday. This is often the best technique in the summer. I still have plenty of day available so give me a call to book today.

This morning started of with lightening. We waited at the launch for it to pass then headed out on very calm water. Today’s trip was 4 guys so I had Wayne Weber running the second boat for me.

We both headed to different spots using different techniques to see which was best. Turned out to be a slower than expected bite for both of us. That being said between trolling cranks and worms Mike, Will, David, and Tony all left with their limits of walleye. They also took home a few bonus fish.

Overall it was a great day with excellent customers. The weather was better then expected and that is always a plus. I have dates available in the near future if you want to get out walleye fishing on Oneida Lake.

Last night I had an evening charter with Cassie and Scott. The weather was a bit iffy and we thought we might end up wet. It turned out to be a fairly nice night.

Not only did the weather cooperate but the walleye followed suit. We had no trouble trolling up a limit of very nice fish. Scott landed the nicest of the night at 22.5 inches.

I had a great time fishing with Scott and Cassie. The fishing has been fantastic and calls have been pouring in. If you want to get in on the action don’t wait to lock in your date.

Weekend Oneida Lake Fishing Report 6/22/20

The mayfly hatch was in full swing this past weekend. If you are familiar with Oneida Lake walleye fishing then you know that means its time to troll the mud flats.

I had a great trip with Mike, Derek, and Ryan catching walleye and perch on spinners in 30 to 40 feet of water. Trolling a spinner and a worm took the majority of the bites. Jigging the typical baits such as blade baits and bucktails is also taking some eyes.

I have dates available if you want to get out and catch some fish. You won’t find better eating freshwater fish then walleye and perch.

Oneida Lake weekend walleye fishing

Saturday I had the pleasure of taking out Carrie and her kids Delaney and Derek. It was a special trip for Derek as it was his birthday.

Unfortunately for the kids it was a slow day for us. We marked a lot of fish but had trouble getting them to go. We did manage a few keepers and a bunch of shorts. Not getting more keepers definitely bothered me more than the kids. They had a blast being on the boat and reeling in fish even if they weren’t big enough to keep.

Sunday it was like someone flipped a switch and I was glad because it was tournament day. We went back to the same place I had marked the fish the day before. This time they bit and bit very well.

Trolling crankbaits was the ticket Sunday. I was fortunate to have a great tournament partner, Craig Francis. He is a trolling machine.

We weighed in 13.22 pounds which was enough for the win. This was Craig’s first win and I was very happy to be part of it.

If you want to get out on Oneida Lake walleye fishing give me a call. Dates are starting to fill up so don’t wait.

Casting for Walleye

Don and Matt called asking about a walleye fishing charter. They didn’t want to troll. The reason they wanted a trip was to learn how to catch walleye on Onieda Lake casting. I told them no problem.

Either I am a good teacher or they are excellent students. It didn’t take long at all for them to pick up the technique. Once they had it down the quickly put a limit of nice walleye in the livewell.

Is there a walleye fishing technique you want to learn? If so give me a call and we will get a trip set up for you do so exactly that.

Oneida Lake Walleye Fishing Report 7/3/20

I first had the pleasure of fishing with Jim and Denise last year. They had won a trip I donated for a local Trout Unlimited fundraising event. They had a great time and left with a limit of walleyes. This year Denise bought Jim a trip for his birthday.

This years trip was much like last years. Jim and Denise left with a limit of walleyes and a few bonus perch. All of which I cleaned and bagged for them.

We took all of our fish trolling spinners with worms. If you would like to get out and get in on the action give me a call.
