2023 Rates

Unfortunately, with the cost of everything still on the rise, I have no choice but to raise my rates for 2023. I have been debating this for months and decided to raise them by only $50.

I am trying my best to keep my prices fair and affordable for everyone. If you shop around you will find I am not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. The best part is if you book with a deposit before May 1st, you can lock in your trip at the 2022 rate. You can also buy a gift certificate now at the 2022 rate and choose the date of your trip later on.

The 2022 Fall Bite Is Here

The fall is one of the best times to fish Oneida Lake. The lake fishes well all season but when the fall comes the walleyes put on the feed bag in preparation for winter. This time of year trolling crankbaits produces a lot of action most days.

It is safe to say the fall bite is here and will only continue to get better as the cooler weather arrives. I will be running trips until the snow flies. If you want to get in on the action give me a call as soon as possible. Dates are filling fast as this is the prime time to put some fish in the freezer.

Oneida Lake Walleye Fishing Report 6-23-22

Walleye fishing on Oneida Lake has been good. We are getting fish trolling and jigging. Each day one produces better than the other but most days both have produced.

Fishing is not lights out constant limits but it has been steady. Some days we have struggled but still put fish in the boat. Other days the fishing has been nothing short of fantastic.

If you want to get in on the action give me a call and I’ll get you on the water. If there is a technique you are looking to learn let me know. I am always willing to teach anglers during the trip.

Walleye season is finally here.

Well after what seemed like a long winter open water season is finally here. Opening week has not disappointed and it’s obvious Oneida is going to fish very well again this year.

The state changed the limit and you are now allowed to take 5 of these delicious fish home for dinner. I do clean your fish for you at the end of the trip as well.

Opening day I had a chance to fish with my long time friend Louie. We put a hurting on them fishing blade baits and jigs. This weekend I am have a charter and a tournament so look for an update on Monday.

If you want in on the action give me a call and let’s put some fish in the net and your freezer.

Oneida Lake Walleye Fishing 10-26-21

Not a lot to say other than the fishing has been very good. We have been putting limits in the boat each time out. Trolling has been on fire but jigging is producing fish as well.

Call today to set up a fall walleye fishing trip. This bite should last right up until the launch freezes over.

Oneida Lake Fishing Report 9/1/21

Walleye fishing on Oneida Lake has been up and down. The Lake level is finally getting back to normal but our weather has been inconsistent. Steady weather patterns are always better than weather that is constantly changing.

That being said we are still getting fish. Trolling and covering a lot of water has been the trick to putting walleye in the net. Our fish have been in 35 to 40 feet of water 20 to 40 feet down.

The fall provides some of the best walleye fishing of the year. If you want in on the action give me a call to book a trip today.

Weekend Report 5/25/21

I guess the title should be long weekend report as it is Tuesday. It was a busy four days for sure.

Saturday was a great start as we finished our trip with a boat limit. Sunday was another excellent day as Craig and I finished 2nd in the tournament.

Monday and Tuesday I was back on Oneida Lake with guests and they were all smiles. Both days ended with boat limits.

If you want to put some Oneida Lake Walleye in your freezer give me a call.

Lake Erie Walleye Fishing

Last week some friends and I took a trip out to Lake Erie. Erie is probably the only place I like more than Oneida.

If you take the average Oneida fish and add 5 inches you have the average Lake Erie walleye. The catch rate is very close on both lakes. Some days on Erie we average more fish other less than what we do on Oneida Lake.

The biggest difference between the lakes is the wind. You don’t want to make the trip to Erie for just one day. If you plan for 5 days you hopefully will get to fish 3. When the wind blows Erie gets very mean.

As for the taste I can’t compare as I have never ate a walleye out of Lake Erie.

Oneida Lake Fishing Report 11/7/20

Today’s trip was a last minute booking. This time of year that is more than acceptable as the weather can be unpredictable. Victor wanted to get his 2 kids out fishing on this gorgeous day.

Taking kids fishing is something I strongly support. Matthew and Avenir we nothing but smiles all day. At the end of their four hour charter they had a boat limit to take home and many more released to filet another day.

Oneida Lake walleye fishing has been very consistent this year. This fall it has been nothing short of amazing most days. I will be fishing until the snow flies so if you want to get out on the water give me a call.

Oneida Lake Fishing Report 11/6/20

Yesterday’s trip was 5 guys so that meant two boats. Mike, Mike Jr. and shamus went with me while Bill and Glen were second boat.

We started off trolling. The bite was exceptional so we were very picky about what went in the livewell. After 2 passes we moved to try jigging up a few.

The jigging bite was good but nothing like the trolling bite. Overall it was a great day on Oneida Lake putting fish in the boat with every technique we tried. We ended the day with 2 boat limits of Oneida gold in the livewells.

I am still fishing and open for trips. The bite doesn’t get much better than it is right now. Give me a call to get in on the action while we still have nice weather.
